Norm N. Nite on legendary disc jockey Alan Freed

The ashes of legendary disc jockey and creator of the term ‘Rock and Roll’ Alan Freed were laid to rest in a ceremony at Lakeview Cemetery in Cleveland.  A ceremony was held and a monument was unveiled.

 Legendary disc jockey and rock historian Norm N. Nite served as MC and welcomed the crowd and gave a brief bio of Alan Freed, the disc jockey who became the Father of Rock and Roll.  Nite said that Freed took a “teenagers mind and funneled it into 50,000 watts.”
