Radio Legend Mike Trivisonno passed away unexpectedly today (10-28-21).

Love him or hate him - everybody knows his name. He's WTAM radio's drive time disc jockey and he's not afraid to speak his mind. But now, as News Commentator Paul Harvey would say, here's the rest of the story.

Mike was born on Cleveland's East Side on September 20, 1949, the eldest of three children. He had a number of jobs before he took to the airwaves in 1987. His father worked in ceramic tile, so naturally, Mike worked on and off in that profession from a very young age. Then he went on to landscaping. He worked as an employee of a landscape firm before starting his own company "Chagrin Valley Landscaping".

RIP Ben Stefanski

Ben Stefanski was a community leader and philanthropist especially in his beloved Slavic Village neighborhood. He was a history buff who brought that knowledge to current problems such as crime, poverty and clean water.

He worked on numerous projects including the Cleveland Cultural Gardens, regional leader for the Kosciuszko Foundation, worked and accomplished much for the City of Cleveland under Mayor Michael White, and in his earlier years was with Third Federal Savings and Loan, a national financial institution founded by his family.

Ben passed away on Saturday July 6, 2019.

Shaker Heights Mayor Leikin at Food Adventurers event

Shaker Heights Mayor Earl Leikin welcomed the ClevelandPeople.Com Food Adventurers to the Peal Restaurant and applauded them for their commitment to diversity.

The Food Adventurers travel to authentic ethnic restaurants in the Cleveland area and, besides enjoying a special traditional menu, learn about the culture of the country.

The Pearl (formerly Pearl of the Orient) is run by Chef Rose Wong and the evening included many glimpses into the culture of China. Debbie Hanson from ClevelandPeople.Com introduced the Mayor.

Why 99 Red Balloons in the German Cultural Garden in Cleveland

Dan Hanson of ClevelandPeople.Com is co-chair, with his sister Debbie Hanson, of the Marketing Committee for the Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation.  They produced the event where 185 people gathered in the German Cultural Garden in Cleveland to celebrate the 99th year of the Cleveland Cultural Gardens.  Here Dan explains why the number 99 was chosen.

Cleveland's Diversity at Work

Computers Assisting People (CAP) is a Cleveland non-profit that has worked to bridge the Digital Divide since the mid-90s. Since inception, CAP volunteers have refurbished and donated over 15,000 computers to over 450 schools and non-profits in Cleveland.


On Saturday, CAP moved to its new location at 2800 Euclid and a diverse group of volunteers helped out - various races, all ages, men and women - a great microcosm of our community. Here are 2 photos of some of the volunteers. (Debbie Hanson is not in the photos because she took them)

Cleveland Marathon through Cultural Gardens

Congratulations to the African-American Cultural Garden who showed the most support of all the Gardens as the runners from the Cleveland Marathon passed through on Sunday. They won a $500 gift card from Petitti Garden Centers. Congratulations!

Cleveland Rotary Club honor

Rotary Club of Cleveland is pleased to present its 2013 International Service Award to ClevelandPeople.com and its founders, Pat Hanson, Dan Hanson, and Deborah Hanson not only for their commitment to a better world and the furtherance of world understanding and peace, but for their global vision in support of the international community of Greater Cleveland and the State of Ohio.
