Gold Medalist Dominique Moceanu and Wigs for Kids

It just doesn't seem fair when kids get sick. And when they get cancer and end up losing their hair, that's even more tragic.

That's why a program like Wigs for Kids is such a good idea.

As their website says, "When children lose their hair, whether as a result of medical treatments, health conditions, or burn accidents, they don't just suffer physically. The change in their appearance can drastically undermine their self-image and sabotage their self-esteem. To combat this additional trauma, Certified Cosmetic Therapist Jeffrey Paul founded Wigs for Kids, a nonprofit organization that has been serving children suffering from hair loss since 1980."

Olympic Gold medalist Dominique Moceanu teamed up with her friend Mona Lisa at the opening of Mona Lisa's Salon and Spa on Friday night for a benefit for Wigs for Kids. Dominique donated her own hair last year and is a strong supporter of the cause.
