Continuum of Military Service at St Joseph HS

Lt. Colonel Gary Minadeo is a graduate of St. Joseph High School and West Point.  After retiring from the service he came back to St Joe’s to teach Math and Technology.  He spoke about the Continuum of Military Service at the ceremony dedicating the St. Joseph High School Viking Veteran Memorial in Cleveland.





St Joe’s HS Viking Vets – Forever Young and Taps

Jim Tobin was MC at the ceremony to dedicate the Viking Veteran Memorial to honor the six St. Joseph High School students who were killed in Vietnam.  He said he thinks of two songs: Don Henley’s The End of the Innocence speaking about the death of your brothers and classmates and Bob Dylan’s Forever Young.  The ceremony ended with Taps and the Retirement of Colors.

Thanks to all St Joe’s Viking Veterans

Jim Tobin gave thanks to all Viking Veterans, former St Joe’s President Rich Osborne and Monica Johns from the Johns-Carabelli company for the work on the Viking Veteran Memorial to honor the six St. Joseph High School students who were killed in Vietnam.

Jim Tobin introduced the family members of the six St. Joseph High School students who were killed in Vietnam.  The Viking Veteran Memorial was created to honor them.

Michael Strainic was a Navy Seabee and is now Commander of the Catholic War Veterans Of The United States Of America Inc., John Paul II Post 1959 in Mentor, Ohio. He spoke at the ceremony dedicating the St. Joseph High School Viking Veteran Memorial in Cleveland.

A group of St Joseph High School alumni who are veterans sang the alma mater at the ceremony dedicating the St. Joseph High School Viking Veteran Memorial in Cleveland.

Bill Cervenik, President Elect of St. Joseph High School in Cleveland, recently retired as mayor of the City of Euclid.  He spoke at the ceremony dedicating the St. Joseph High School Viking Veteran Memorial and prayed that they never have to add another name to the memorial.

Welcome Home to all St Joe’s Viking Veterans

Jim Tobin introduced the other members of the St. Joseph High School Viking Veteran Memorial committee – all Vikings and all combat veterans.  He then gave a Welcome home to all Viking Veterans and to the families of the deceased.





St Joseph Viking Veteran Memorial – Present Colors

Presentation of the Colors by 4 students followed by the singing of the National Anthem at St. Joseph High School in Cleveland where a monument to fallen veteran classmates was dedicated.  It’s called the Viking Veteran Memorial.
