Sheila Murphy Crawford, president of the Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation, told the story about meeting Mary Hamlin years ago. Mary is British and Sheila is Irish yet they quickly formed a lasting friendship that exemplified the Gardens’ motto of Peace through Mutual Understanding.
