Drummer at Lebanon Day in Cleveland

Nemr Soueidi performed on the drum to get the crowd dancing at the 6th annual celebration of Lebanon Day in the City of Cleveland celebrating the 73rd independence of Lebanon.

Ajyal Dabke Dance Group at Lebanon Day in Cleveland

The American Lebanese Community Council presented the 6th annual celebration of Lebanon Day in the City of Cleveland celebrating the 73rd independence of Lebanon.  The ceremony was in the Rotunda of Cleveland City Hall.

The Ajyal Dabke Dance Group performed these two traditional dances.

Israel and Arab world unite against Isis?

Former President of Lebanon (1982-1988) Amine Gemayel spoke at Case Western Reserve University on the topic: Managing the World Crisis of the Middle East: Imperatives and Alternatives.

He was asked about the possibility of Israel and the Arab world uniting to defeat Isis.

He was asked about the return of the presidency in Lebanon (and also about the US presidential elections) and said that Lebanon has been kidnapped.

 He was asked specifically about the situation in Syria including the No Fly Zone, Russia and the US and so on. He said the major powers were using the situation for their own interests.

He spoke about Syria, refugees, Iran, Russia, the US, Isis and more.

CWRU’s David Fleshler introduces former Lebanon president Gemayel

David Fleshler, Vice-Provost of international affairs at The Center for International Affairs at Case Western Reserve University introduced former President of Lebanon Amine Gemayel. 

He also told the President of Case's international students and programs and numerous Nobel winners.

International Fashion Show

One highlight of the International Community Council - Worldwide Intercultural Network's (ICC-WIN) 5th annual multicultural holiday celebration at the Global Center for Health Innovation in the Cleveland Convention Center in Cleveland Ohio was the International Fashion Show. Dozens of countries were represented.

Lebanon Day 2014 in Cleveland

The American Lebanese Community Council presented Lebanon Day in the City of Cleveland to celebrate 71 years of independence for Lebanon. The Rotunda of Cleveland City Hall was full of Lebanese Americans and friends of the Lebanese community.

Lebanon Day in Cleveland

The American Lebanese Community Council hosted an event to celebrate the 69th anniversary of the independence of Lebanon in the Rotunda of Cleveland City Hall. The special guest was Consul General of Lebanon Bilal Kabalan.

Cleveland Lebanese at 216 Birthday Bash

The Cleveland Lebanese community was well-represented at Cleveland's 216th birthday party.

CAMEO - the Cleveland Area Middle East Organization - had a booth and the band Ajyal performed a traditional Lebanese Dabke dance.

Lebanon Day in Cleveland


The first Lebanese Independence Day took place on November 22, 1943 in remembrance of the liberation from the French Mandate which was exercised over Lebanese soil for over 23 years.

In 2011, the first Lebanon Day in the city of Cleveland was celebrated. The Lebanese flag flew from the top of Cleveland City Hall and a special ceremony was held in City Hall Rotunda.
