Dr. Frank used data from the 500 Cities Project to map conditions and behaviors such as obesity and smoking. The 500 Cities project is a collaboration between CDC, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and the CDC Foundation.
The purpose of the 500 Cities Project is to provide city- and census tract-level small area estimates for chronic disease risk factors, health outcomes, and clinical preventive service use for the largest 500 cities in the United States.

The 175th St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Cleveland stepped off with Grand Marshal Roger S. Weist, Irish Mother of the Year Angela Murphy, Inside Co-Chair John Patrick Lackey and Outside Co-Chair Margaret Lynch.
They were followed by other dignitaries and public officials including Mayor Frank Jackson and County Executive Armond Budish, the Cleveland Police Department, Cleveland Fire Department and the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
Just before the 175th St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Cleveland, dignitaries gathered on the steps of the Cosgrove Center and the 2017 honorees were introduced. Grand Marshal - Roger S. Weist, Irish Mother of the Year - Angela Murphy, Inside Co-Chair - John Patrick Lackey, Outside Co-Chair - Margaret Lynch.
Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson presented a proclamation and Katie Cooper led the national anthem of Ireland in Irish and of the United Sates. Then Grand Marshall Roger Weist blew the whistle to begin the Parade.
Timmy Campbell of the West Side Irish American Club Float Committee explained the 2017 club float just before the 175th St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Cleveland. The float featured memories from past parades.

columnist for 15 years. But he didn’t
just sit behind a desk and write. He
attended all the events, ate, drank, sang and danced with the people.
Wael Khoury will be inducted into the
Cleveland International Hall of Fame next Tuesday April 18.
Dr. Khoury
is from Syria and has held leadership positions in numerous Middle East and
broader organizations such as CAMEO, CCWA, Syrian American Cultural Council and
just 2 weeks ago as president of the Cleveland Cultural Gardens
Federation.
He led the project that
created the Syrian Cultural Garden.
Sam Kim will be inducted into the Cleveland International Hall of Fame next Tuesday April 18.
Sam is the first person of Korean heritage to be inducted. He is a 5th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and an Olympic Tae Kwon Do Referee. Sam served the community as President of the Korean American Association of Greater Cleveland and many other roles.
Jim has witnessed firsthand the devastation of communism. His lifetime commitment to human rights began in 1974 when he smuggled bibles and catechisms into Communist Romania.
